INTRODUCTION

DISCOVER ATURIAN CULTURE


Asturias is an autonomous community in Spain. The most important cities are Gijon, Oviedo and Aviles. It´s population is 1,068,165.

Flora and fauna
The fauna in Asturias is variety due to its great diversity of territories ranging from High Mountain, different types of forests, valleys or areas of dunes or beaches.
The most common animals in Asturian forests are: the fox, the bear, the peregrine falcon, the Hedgehog, the Royal Eagle, the chamois and the wolf.
We have a variety fauna in Asturias like: chestnut trees, birch trees, pines, ash trees, cherry trees, hazel trees and maples trees.



Gastronomy
The most typical Asturian dish is fabada, a stew made from dried white beans (fabes), black pudding (morcilla), pork sausage (chorizo) and pork shoulder. Fabada is also made with clams or other seafood.
Asturias is the largest cheese-producing region in Spain. The most important chesse is  Cabrales,but we have GamonedoAfuega'l Pitu and Queso Casín too.


Asturias' most typical dessert is arroz con leche, but it also offers a rich confectionery: almond cakes, cream cakes in puff pasty, frixuelos (a type of crepe), casadiellas (walnut popovers).
